WordPress plugin
With the official vragen.ai plugin you connect your WordPress site to your knowledge base yourself, without a custom integration or a developer. The plugin goes a step beyond crawling: it sends your content through in a structured way as soon as you publish, update or delete. That's more accurate and more up to date. Titles, metadata, taxonomies and languages come along neatly, and deleted content really disappears from the index, without waiting for a next crawl.

A vragen.ai account with API credentials (you'll find your customer name and token in your vragen.ai environment)
Installing
Installation is self-service:

Install and activate the plugin via Plugins → Add New Plugin.

Go to Settings → Vragen.ai and enter your customer name and API token. A notice confirms that the connection works.

Choose which content types you want to synchronize: posts, pages, attachments or your own custom post types.

Run a one-time bulk synchronization to index existing content.
After that, it works automatically. When you publish, edit or delete a post, the plugin updates the corresponding content in vragen.ai. No manual exports or separate sync scripts.

Text extraction from PDFs: linked PDFs are read server-side by vragen.ai.

Multilingual for WPML and Polylang: all translations of a post are merged into one document, tagged with every available language.

Semantic search that can replace the default WordPress search, with a fallback to the native search if the API is unexpectedly unreachable.

Filters (
vragenai_should_index_post,vragenai_document_attributes) to customize what gets indexed.
The admin interface is available in Dutch and English and follows your site's language.
Showing vragen.ai on your site
Besides search, you can show a vragen.ai integration directly on your site. In the plugin, an "integration" is the same as a deployment elsewhere in vragen.ai: a variant of the widget with its own settings. You set them up and manage them in your vragen.ai environment; in WordPress you then choose which one to use. The plugin fetches the list from your account.

With the vragen.ai block you place an integration on a specific page or post.

With the site-wide embed you show an integration across your entire site, for example as a pop-up or side panel. You configure that once under Settings → Vragen.ai.

Showing related content
The plugin can automatically show related items alongside a post or page. Instead of manually assigning tags or links, vragen.ai determines which content is closest in substance based on semantic similarity. You place this with the related content block or the shortcode [vragenai_related].
