Exporting and analyzing the inbox

Every question visitors ask arrives in your inbox. That's a wealth of insight: you see what people really want to know and where your content still falls short. If you want to analyze those questions outside vragen.ai or report on them, you export the inbox to Excel or CSV. Want to retrieve them automatically instead? See Analyzing via the API.

Exporting the inbox

  1. Open your inbox in your environment (log in with the Login button at the top of this website).

  2. Want to export everything? First select a few rows. The option then appears to select all questions at once, including those on the following pages.

  3. If needed, use the filter to make a selection first, for example a period starting from your launch. That keeps the export lighter.

  4. Click export and choose the format (Excel or CSV).

  5. The export is prepared for you. With larger volumes this can take a while. As soon as the file is ready, you get a notification with a download button.

Does an export with a very large number of rows fail? Use the date filter to make a smaller selection. If it keeps going wrong, email service@vragen.ai.

The timestamps in the file: UTC

The timestamps in the export are in UTC (GMT+0), the worldwide standard time. In your online environment you see the time in your own time zone, so the two differ: during Dutch summer time an export is two hours earlier than what you see online, in winter time one hour.

This is a deliberate choice. With one fixed time zone the timestamps stay unambiguous, regardless of where or when you create the export. The header of the export file notes that the times are in UTC.

What can you do with the export?

  • Group frequently asked questions. Cluster similar questions to see which topics come up.

  • Find content gaps. Questions that keep recurring but are answered poorly point to missing or unclear content.

  • Report. Share the numbers and themes with your team or client.
