Best practices
These six points noticeably improve the answers from your knowledge base. They cover your content, your example questions, the styling and how to keep improving.
1. Use clear, task-oriented content
vragen.ai works best with information that is worded concretely and clearly. Think of pages that answer questions like "How do I apply for X?" or "What should I do in case of Y?".
Tip: Avoid wordy policy documents as your only source. Add summaries or explainer pages where needed.
2. Add targeted example questions
Example questions in the widget help users get going faster.
Use questions that are frequently asked, recognizable and worded in an action-oriented way.
Examples:
-
How do I call in sick?
-
When will I receive my payslip?
-
How do I renew my pass?
Note: Avoid duplicate or overly general questions ("What is X?"). Make them as concrete as possible.
3. Match your brand style
Make sure the widget looks like it belongs on your site: align the colors, the font and your logo with your brand style. You do this with your own CSS. How that works exactly is explained in The widget on your website. Fully white-label, without vragen.ai branding, is available in the Enterprise plan.
4. Adapt the tone of voice to your audience
You can influence the writing style of the answers. Do you want to communicate formally, in a friendly way, or casually and informally? Indicate this at the start, or set it yourself via the system prompt (see Configuring vragen.ai).
Example: A municipality chooses friendly and clear. An internal IT department chooses short and task-oriented.
5. Limit to reliable sources
vragen.ai only gives answers based on the sources you provide. Make sure this information is up to date, unambiguous and well structured.
Avoid outdated documents or duplicated content: this can cause confusion in the generated answer.
6. Analyze and improve
Regularly review which questions are being asked and where the system may not be providing an answer. From this you can learn:
-
Which information is missing or unclear
-
Which content you can add or restructure
-
What users need
