Example of data anonymization in vragen.ai

At vragen.ai, privacy comes first. So we are introducing the option to automatically strip personal data out of questions that visitors enter by accident. This beta feature helps your visitors and your organization handle privacy carefully, without anyone having to keep an eye out for it.

What's new

With this update you can:

  • Anonymize personal data automatically. Think of names, addresses, email addresses or other identifying details typed into the input field.

  • See it temporarily in the inbox. Anonymized questions are shown with a marker such as [name removed]. After one hour the original personal data is permanently deleted.

  • Configure it per organization. Under Settings – General you can simply switch 'Anonymize questions (beta)' on or off.

Why this matters

Automatic anonymization means better privacy and better protection for your visitors. With public search functions and open input fields especially, it matters that personal data doesn't get shared unintentionally, including when someone types it in by accident. With this feature you:

  • reduce the risk of storing personal data,

  • keep it clear what happens to that data,

  • and make it easier to meet privacy expectations.
